EXPEDITIONS
If you or your team are embarking on any type of expedition or adventure ZeroRisk can assist in your quest whether it be via land, sea or air.
Our vast experience in survival, high risk operations and logistics will give you the vital foundations in preparation and planning. This might be equipment advice and sourcing, hostile environment training, defensive tactics, 4WD skills and senior first aid.
Two recent projects that we have serviced are ‘The Green Way Up’ and ‘Flying 4 The Doctors’. We took the participants in these contrasting adventures through training that covered leadership, teamwork, survival at sea, hostile environments, kidnap and detention, vehicle checkpoints, ditching a light aircraft at sea, weapons and ballistics and senior first aid.
Survival and risk management is vital if you are to get to where you want to go and return home safely.
OFFROAD DRIVING AND REMOTE FIRST AID (ODRF)
This is a perfect course for anyone venturing off the beaten track for a news assignment, documentary or adventure.
The one-day ODRF course covers driver training, emergency recovery drills and first aid when you are a considerable distance from the nearest help.
There has been a marked increase in the number of driving related incidents and accidents in remote regions. Poor driving skills, fatigue and a lack of environment awareness were noted as contributory factors.
To minimise the potential of a road traffic accident adventurers and media organisations are strongly advised to conduct the following:
- Develop a risk assessment and identify effective control measures
- Make sure team members have attended a ODRF Training Course
- Ensure team members have received First Aid Training for remote areas
- Select the correct equipment (winch, water purification, first aid kits etc)
- Implement a system for “back to base” support
